Why do people feel the need to judge others? I never understood this reasoning.
Why aren't people more understanding and accepting of other people, their situation in life, and their personal differences that make each of us unique?
It would seem to me that love has no boundaries, no rules, and no conditionals. Yet, i often find myself surrounded by people who are not understanding or accepting of personal differences. They want to change people who are different, who live unusual lifestyles, or who don't conform with the way they hold themselves.
But, i don't just mean people not accepting others, or wanting to change them. I also mean people who set out to control others as a way of making them into something that they themselves can feel comfortable with.
Sometimes, i wish the world was color blind! Color Blind to the differences that make each of us unique persons. Color blind to the choices or the mistakes that each of us make, regardless if we agree with them.
As I watch this YouTube video of a beautiful girl, who is misunderstood and turns towards alcoholism for relief; the background sound reflects my personal thoughts regarding the world needing to be more color blind to personal differences.
During my many travels, i have met many amazing people. And yet the story continues to be the same. The world is anything but color blind.
People have dreams, they have desires, they have wants and they have needs. And while they are working hard towards these goals, there always seems to be someone standing in their way, discouraging them and making fun of them. These actions are nothing more then another form of bondage and abuse.
If they were only color blind, then maybe they would see through these differences, and notice someone amazing.
Each of us are amazing individuals, with so much to offer each other. As Helen Keller once say, "Even darkness and silence has its wonders." And that, I believe to be true for all of us. We each have our wonders, no matter how dark or silent we may appear to others.
This movie expresses my thoughts on this subject:
